Parents and Carers

Your Help is Invaluable

Parents are warmly invited to come in to school to support us, with everything from hearing readers or playing games with a small group of children to helping out with clubs or accompanying us on trips.  If you think you might be able to help or you have a skill that might be useful to us, we would love to hear from you - your help really is invaluable.

Keeping You Informed

Our experience has demonstrated that children make the best progress when parents are fully engaged in their child’s learning. You will receive a Progress Report in the Autumn and Spring terms describing your child’s behaviour and attitudes and at the end of the year your child’s teacher will write a comprehensive report detailing your child’s attainment and effort in each area of the curriculum.  We hold two parents’ evenings every year where you may discuss your child’s progress with their teacher.

Contact With Your Child's Class Teacher

We encourage frequent informal contact with your child’s class teacher ,who will always be willing to suggest ways in which you as a parent can support your child in their work.  Teachers are always happy to see you at short notice to discuss any concerns you may have about your child’s education or welfare. We would much rather you came to us as soon as you are worried, rather than having sleepless nights. With your help we can in most cases resolve the problem quickly.

The Headteacher is always available to listen to parents - appointments can be made by contacting the office.

Managed Learning Environment (MLE) - our Parent Room

On our new MLE you will find a Parent 'Room', with a 'Room' for every class.  Here you can find information concerning each class, written by the teachers and designed specifically for parents. Parent login details can be obtained from the office.  We welcome any feedback while we are developing our MLE.

Workshops and Information Evenings

We hold occasional workshops on topical issues such as current techniques in maths teaching, home learning environments, reading and homework.  Any suggestions for future evenings are welcomed - please contact the office.
