We currently have spaces available in Years 4, 5 and 6.  Please contact the school office for further information.

Reception

Children born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022 need to apply for a Reception place at a primary school. Full guidance and an online application form can be found at merton.gov.uk/admissions.

If you are not a Merton resident please apply through your home local authority.

Please read through our admissions policy carefully here. If you are applying for a Foundation (Church) place, please complete the supplementary form here.

The deadline for online applications and supplementary forms is 15th January 2026. 

Morning nursery - September 2026 entry

Children can start in our morning Nursery class from the start of the school term after their third birthday.   Please check your child's date of birth here to see when they will be eligible to start nursery.  

St. Matthew's has a single intake for September 2026.  There are 26 morning nursery places.  Once at capacity, if a place becomes available during the year, it will be offered to the next child on the waiting list.

St. Matthew's deals with its own admissions for nursery. 

Our morning nursery hours are 8.45am to 11.45am Monday to Friday.  Our admissions policy can be found here and our application form here. 

The deadline to apply is 30th November 2025.

Morning nursery - January 2027/April 2027 entry

If capacity has not been reached after the September intake, there may be places available for January 2027 and/or April 2027 entry. 

Please note, places for entry in January 2027 and April 2027 are subject to availability.  Names will be added to the waiting list and a place confirmed at the beginning of the term before they would be due to start.

Extended nursery hours (Little Acorns)

We also offer extended nursery hours 11.45am to 3.30pm Monday to Thursday term time only in our Little Acorns provision.

There are 16 Little Acorns places.  Little Acorns places are available to our morning nursery children only.  Priority for places is given to our September intake.

Any children starting in January or April may be offered a place but this is subject to availability.  January and April starters will be prioritised for Little Acorns places in the following September.
